BMW using the 5D MKII to shoot there latest commerical for Sebring Race. There was some gear mishap as 5D MKII was lost in the filming of this commercial: Apparently one of BMW’s professional drivers, Dirk Muller, was being too aggressive while following the other M3 and accidentally rammed a Canon 5D Mark II and lens into the rear of the car. Firmware Released!!! Looky here folks looks like Canon has released the newest firmware for the Canon 5D MKII! The 24p that we have been looking for is not to be found at all! All that was included was supports the WFT-E4 II pretty much! Aww! I guess we are going to have to wait longer i guess! Firmware Version 1.2.4 incorporates the following improvements and fixes. 1. Supports the WFT-E4 II wireless file transmitter that was released in December 2009. 2. Corrects a phenomenon in which visible noise may appear in images taken by continuous Bulb shooting. Firmware Version 1.2.4 is for cameras with firmware up to version 1.1.0. If the camera’s firmware is already version 1.2.4, it is not necessary to update the firmware. Dan took the MKIV to horse races, shot the video in 720p 60fps and used Final Cut Pro to edit. From the 60fps down to 24fps using cinema tools and no ungraded was use. This video looks great! Well this has to be the few reviews that i have seen with the Nikon D3s and Nikon 70-200 f2.8 VRII at the sametime. Webshooter.Tv has some nice samples between D3, D3s, 70-200 f2.8 VR, and 70-200 f2.8 VRII. You can see a straight comparison how much of a difference the new body and lens can make! If you don’t believe me see for yourself after the jump. Source:[Webshooter.tv/Nikonrumors] The absence of vignetting around the corners of the frame is the most noticeable difference I note on the VRII. Vignette control was set to LOW on the D3S just as it was on my usual D3 + 70-200 VR combo and I saw no vignette at f/2.8 or 3.2. While I didn’t have a chance to test D3S with VR at the three weddings that I shot (carrying one 70-200 is heavy enough), a later controlled test proved that the disappearance of vignette has nothing to with D3S or its firmware but purely by the VR II’s optical brilliance.
