RAW Therapee! Open Source RAW Editor! So you’ve starting using RAW in your new digital camera and you don’t have a RAW editor to utilize all that RAW has to offer? Well look no further Raw Therapee is a open source RAW editor, and better yet its free! (Please donate if you can.) I’ve done a bit of testing between Raw Therapee vs Adobe ACR(Adobe Camera Raw), results are not too bad at all. I think with some tweaking you can have just a good as results, but remember its free so don’t complain. Fetures and links after the jump. [Source: Imaging Resource] The most significant changes in the GUI are the following: * multi-tab interface * the real batch processing support arrived: select multiple images and adjust them together (the multi-adjust behavior of some parameters is selectable in the preferences dialog: they can be either additive or absolute) * completely re-written editor: preview and detail view are now gone. The main image view can be magnified as required, and only the necessary part of the image will be re-calculated. There is a small navigator, too, and infinitely many detailed views can be opened to investigate fine details. * 16 [...]

Harry’s GPS Lap Timer! Into cars? Need a laptimer? Got a iPhone? Well Harry’s GPS Lap Timer is the answer for you! This has to be one of the more complete lap timer i’ve seen so far. Its very close to being a data acquisition on the iPhone. The problem with cellphones GPS units is the rate of sampling. I think the iPhone rate is 1hz, most GPS units for racing are 5hz. But still $4.99 is a steal of a deal! ✦Beautiful analog timer display with both a minute and a second hand ✦Brand your LapTimer by adding your car’s or motorcycle’s manufacturer’s logo to the timer plate ✦Realistic simulation of analog clockwork, utilizing animation and realistic sound / tick per second ✦Precise digital display of lapped time with a precision of 1/100 second ✦Two skins, one with a white clock face and one with a black clock face ✦Record and view your lapped times by track ✦View how you optimize your time. Best times and all time best times are colored blue / red ✦Countdown ticks and animation to best lap so far with adjustable countdown volume ✦Stop / Go mode and intermediate times ✦Manage your vehicles list [...]

Adobe CS4 11.0.1 Update! Well here is the first update for Adobe CS4. This update seems to correct a few problems that CS4 has had from its release! CS4 seems buggy to me still. Its not perfect, but i hope CS4 stays around longer than CS3 did! • A number of issues that could cause slow performance have been addressed. • Pen barrel rotation with Wacom tablets now works correctly. • Photoshop now correctly recognizes 3D textures edited by a plug-in. • The quality of the results of Auto-Blend Layers (Stack Images) has been improved. • A problem that could result in a crash when pasting formatted text has been fixed. • A crash that could result from a corrupt font no longer occurs.
