Can you believe what seems like forever, a refresh of the xxD line up for Canon has finally been announced! The 60D has just come crashing into your computer screens and will be in store shortly. What I think are some really strong points for the camera is the swivel screen, price, and new ergonomics for the xxD line. What seems to be pretty standard on all Canon Dslr is 1080p video, the 60D is packed with could be the same AF system as the 50D, and same sensor as the 7D(Only guessing at the moment since there is no test shots available). What is very new for the xxD line is now its a new body construction, no longer is it a magnesium body, this time around a aluminum body with a plastic shell. Dan took the MKIV to horse races, shot the video in 720p 60fps and used Final Cut Pro to edit. From the 60fps down to 24fps using cinema tools and no ungraded was use. This video looks great! Well this has to be the few reviews that i have seen with the Nikon D3s and Nikon 70-200 f2.8 VRII at the sametime. Webshooter.Tv has some nice samples between D3, D3s, 70-200 f2.8 VR, and 70-200 f2.8 VRII. You can see a straight comparison how much of a difference the new body and lens can make! If you don’t believe me see for yourself after the jump. Source:[Webshooter.tv/Nikonrumors] The absence of vignetting around the corners of the frame is the most noticeable difference I note on the VRII. Vignette control was set to LOW on the D3S just as it was on my usual D3 + 70-200 VR combo and I saw no vignette at f/2.8 or 3.2. While I didn’t have a chance to test D3S with VR at the three weddings that I shot (carrying one 70-200 is heavy enough), a later controlled test proved that the disappearance of vignette has nothing to with D3S or its firmware but purely by the VR II’s optical brilliance. You will see that when I couple the VR with D3 or D3S, the vignette reappears. The word on the street that there is problem with Canon’s 7D where it will show during burst mode it will show the preceding frame. I have not seen this myself when shooting with the 7D, but i have not done alot of shooting with this camera. Phenomenon In images captured by continuous shooting, and under certain conditions, barely noticeable traces of the immediately preceding frame may be visible. This phenomenon is not noticeable in an image with optimal exposure. The phenomenon may become more noticeable if a retouching process such as level compensation is applied to emphasize the image.
