Canon 5D MKII firmware update 2.0.8! Today Canon released a new firmware update for the Canon 5D MKII that fixes a few bugs. Fixes a phenomenon in which movies are not taken at the shooting mode registered in the user's settings if a shooting mode Aperture priority (or Shutter priority) is registered in any of the camera's user settings (C1, C2, C3) and the user attempts to shoot a movie. Fixes a phenomenon in which the shutter will not release when pressing the shutter button when the auto power off function is set to "on". Fixes a phenomenon in which overexposure occurs when shooting a Live View shooting simulation with the ISO speed set to L. Fixes a phenomenon in which the settings of the Speedlite transmitter ST-E2 revert to the default settings when both the camera and the ST-E2 are set to auto power off. Fixes a phenomenon in which the Macro Ring Lite (MR-14EX, MT-24EX) and slave flash do not sync while shooting wirelessly. Link after the jump! Canon 5D MKII firmware update 2.0.8!

Windows 7 x Canon Well looks like if you own a Canon products and just recently got Windows 7, are you wondering what is compatible? Canon released a 16 page pdf stating will and will not work! More info after the jump. Source:[Imaging Resource] EOS‐1Ds, EOS 10D, EOS D30, EOS D60 and EOS Digital Rebel, Canon’s EOS Utility is not supported in Windows 7, and hence images must be viewed directly from the memory card. The version of EOS Utility bundled with the EOS‐1D Mark II, EOS‐1D Mark II N, EOS‐1Ds Mark II, EOS 20D, EOS 20Da and EOS 5D meanwhile supports Windows 7 in 32-bit mode only, along with the somewhat cryptic note “not recognized when using the standard function of OS”. Canon 1D MKIV High ISO Sample Images! Well here are some samples images from Canon’s newest offering 1D MKIV! I do not know if this is pre-production firmware or production firmware, but either way its some high ISO images from the MKIV! From these sample images i would say that its about 1 stop better than 5D MKII, but i can’t give a true answer to that…I’m just saying comparing to my MKII to these images. June 2 2009 … Its going to be a busy day! Well if you haven’t heard the news June 2, 2009 is going to be one very busy day! Canon is releasing there new firmware for the 5D MKII that allows full manual controls over the video! Can’t even wait! Next Rogers is introduction Android phones to the Canadian market! This is a alternative smartphone to Crackberry, iPhone, and Winmo. Google Android is a open source platform smartphone. If you never heard of Android…well not a problem cause your not the only one. Lastly…for all the travellers…Westjet is going to have a midnight market down. Not too sure what the discounts are, but hey cheap flight is a cheap flight. Gotta love it!

New Canon 5D MKII Firmware! Manual Manual Manual!!! Wow finally did Canon really listen to its customers? Canon finally did what everyone wanted! Full MANUAL control over the video! I still don’t know why it took so long for them to realize that customers wanted this feature from the beginning. From day one since i’ve had this camera i’ve had to cheat around the the full auto control to control the aperture. Yes Canon you have made me happy! Now just give us the 24p and it will make up for the lack of new AF system! LONDON, UK, 27th May 2009: Canon announced today it will release a firmware update for the EOS 5D Mark II allowing users to manually control exposure when shooting video. The new firmware will be available for download from 2 June 2009 on Canon Europe’s support web site.
