Canon 5D MKII firmware update 2.0.8! Today Canon released a new firmware update for the Canon 5D MKII that fixes a few bugs. Fixes a phenomenon in which movies are not taken at the shooting mode registered in the user's settings if a shooting mode Aperture priority (or Shutter priority) is registered in any of the camera's user settings (C1, C2, C3) and the user attempts to shoot a movie. Fixes a phenomenon in which the shutter will not release when pressing the shutter button when the auto power off function is set to "on". Fixes a phenomenon in which overexposure occurs when shooting a Live View shooting simulation with the ISO speed set to L. Fixes a phenomenon in which the settings of the Speedlite transmitter ST-E2 revert to the default settings when both the camera and the ST-E2 are set to auto power off. Fixes a phenomenon in which the Macro Ring Lite (MR-14EX, MT-24EX) and slave flash do not sync while shooting wirelessly. Link after the jump! Canon 5D MKII firmware update 2.0.8!

Ken Block – Gymkhana THREE – Part 2 Well folks here we go with Ken Block's lastest Gymkhana 3 Part 2, located l'Autodrome, France! With 2 million hits in 24hrs i guess they are pretty successful in getting everyone to watch this video! But you know what…I'm not a fan of this video. I think Ken Block going to the WRC, I think he's lost all of his driving abilities. Ken is the only driver in WRC without scoring a single point really and how does he still have a seat still. Well the video just filled with Ken just bouncing of the rev limiter and doing circular burn outs. Really? Come on! This video just plain boring! I think the only parts that were really cool was the launch, when you can see the car sit before taking off and the drift around the pylon near the top of high speed oval (the screen capture). Large portion was shot on RED, and in car (Canon 5D MKII) You be the judge, video after the jump! Source:[Youtube/Autoblog] It was shot on Red MX, HPX 170, Canon 5D MarkII, Canon 7D, and Go Pro. The POV was Canon and Go Pro. [...]

Here is the newest 2.0.7. fixing a few problems: This firmware update (Version 2.0.7) incorporates the following improvements and fixes. Fixes a phenomenon in which the aperture exhibits abnormal movement when shooting movies in manual exposure mode and Aperture Priority AE (Av mode) using some Canon lenses (such as macro lenses). Fixes a phenomenon in which the exposure level shown in the LCD panel differs from what is shown in the viewfinder when shooting still images in manual exposure mode. Fixes a phenomenon in which the Wireless File Transmitter (WFT-E4 or WFT-E4 II) may not automatically power off when used for FTP transfers. BMW’s Sebring Race Commercial Shot with Canon 5D Mark II Wow can you believe how much Canon’s HD-SLR’s have made a impact in the world of video. BMW using the 5D MKII to shoot there latest commerical for Sebring Race. There was some gear mishap as 5D MKII was lost in the filming of this commercial: Apparently one of BMW’s professional drivers, Dirk Muller, was being too aggressive while following the other M3 and accidentally rammed a Canon 5D Mark II and lens into the rear of the car. The poor camera and lens were splattered all over the Sebring track. Video after the jump! Source[PDNPluse]

Canon 1D MKIV New ISO performance images by Jeff Ascough Jeff Ascough is UK based photographer that is known for not using flash for any of his shoots. Looks like he’s been using 1-series bodies for quite awhile and really familiar with them. Looks like Jeff has the camera 24hrs before his shoots and didn’t have alot of time setting up the camera, but its not much different from his 1DsMKIII. Shots from the Canon 1DMKIV they are stunning in low light! Autofocus performance is stunning. There is no other word for it. Canon have spent a lot of time and energy on this aspect of the camera and it shows. I was shooting in horrific lighting for AF systems, and it just performed faultlessly. I used the center point and the back button for focusing as this is what I have become use to over the past 12 months with the 5DMKII, and like I said it was faultless. I didn’t try AI servo mode (as I always use One shot) or any of the other AF options (some of which have been borrowed from the 7D). Source:[Jeff Ascough/Canonrumors] Pictures after the jump! Foosh Inc 10yr The best clothing shop in my city is Foosh! They just recently had there whooping 10yr anniversary party! Not only did they have a shoe drop with collaboration with Creative Recreation, they also had a great article on the Hypebeast! If you ever come to Edmonton, AB you have to drop by Foosh. I’m sure they will have something you can be rocking on the streets! Click HERE to the pics Click HERE to store website Click HERE to Hypebeast article
