Youtube going 1080p!!! Anouncement today by YouTube stating next week 1080p HD is coming! Woot this some good news! I do hope have 720p will look better now. Another good thing if you had uploaded any of your videos in 1080 they will re-encoded them to 1080p for you! Official link after the jump! 1080p HD Is Coming to YouTube We’re excited to say that support for watching 1080p HD videos in full resolution is on its way. Starting next week, YouTube’s HD mode will add support for viewing videos in 720p or 1080p, depending on the resolution of the original source, up from our maximum output of 720p today. As resolution of consumer cameras increases, we want to make sure YouTube is the best home on the web to showcase your content. For viewers with big monitors and a fast computer, try switching to 1080p to get the most out of the fullscreen experience. Just how much larger is 1080p? Take a look at the following screenshots from this video: Click HERE to the official YouTube blog!

Canon 7D Double Trouble??? The word on the street that there is problem with Canon’s 7D where it will show during burst mode it will show the preceding frame. I have not seen this myself when shooting with the 7D, but i have not done alot of shooting with this camera. Phenomenon In images captured by continuous shooting, and under certain conditions, barely noticeable traces of the immediately preceding frame may be visible. This phenomenon is not noticeable in an image with optimal exposure. The phenomenon may become more noticeable if a retouching process such as level compensation is applied to emphasize the image. New Canon 5D MKII Firmware! Manual Manual Manual!!! Wow finally did Canon really listen to its customers? Canon finally did what everyone wanted! Full MANUAL control over the video! I still don’t know why it took so long for them to realize that customers wanted this feature from the beginning. From day one since i’ve had this camera i’ve had to cheat around the the full auto control to control the aperture. Yes Canon you have made me happy! Now just give us the 24p and it will make up for the lack of new AF system! LONDON, UK, 27th May 2009: Canon announced today it will release a firmware update for the EOS 5D Mark II allowing users to manually control exposure when shooting video. The new firmware will be available for download from 2 June 2009 on Canon Europe’s support web site. Following the launch of the EOS 5D Mark II in September 2008, Canon’s Research and Development team has listened closely to customer feedback to develop additions to the camera’s movie recording functionality. Allowing EOS 5D Mark II owners to achieve even more stunning video results with the camera, the firmware update will include the following manual [...]

Panasonic Lumix GH1. First footage from Philip Bloom on Vimeo. Random: GH1 and Nikon Zeiss prime F1.4 in low light from Philip Bloom on Vimeo. Panasonic GH1 video by Phillip Bloom! Well the one and only Phillip Bloom brings us some real footage of the new Panasonic GH1! The footage looks to be quite nice, and you can’t hear the lens when focusing. With the GH1 using AVCHD there appears to a bit of a limitation, only having 17Mbs its a tad low. I’m not too sure if its the AVCHD or the sensor, but low light is not as good as the Canon or Nikon offering. Take a look and see for yourself and leave a comment!
