Newest Kid on the block, Canon 60D! Can you believe what seems like forever, a refresh of the xxD line up for Canon has finally been announced! The 60D has just come crashing into your computer screens and will be in store shortly. What I think are some really strong points for the camera is the swivel screen, price, and new ergonomics for the xxD line. What seems to be pretty standard on all Canon Dslr is 1080p video, the 60D is packed with could be the same AF system as the 50D, and same sensor as the 7D(Only guessing at the moment since there is no test shots available). What is very new for the xxD line is now its a new body construction, no longer is it a magnesium body, this time around a aluminum body with a plastic shell. Official press release and pictures after the jump! Canon’s New EOS 60D Digital SLR Camera Unleashes The Creative Potential Of Digital Photography And EOS Full HD Video With New In-Camera Imaging Features New EOS 60D Offers a Vari-Angle LCD Screen, EOS Full HD Video Recording, In-Camera RAW Processing and Creative Filters and 18-Megapixel Resolution Among Class-Leading Specs LAKE [...]

Canon 5D MKII Firmware 2.0.7! Looks like the firmwares are just flying out now for the 5D MKII! Here is the newest 2.0.7. fixing a few problems: This firmware update (Version 2.0.7) incorporates the following improvements and fixes. Fixes a phenomenon in which the aperture exhibits abnormal movement when shooting movies in manual exposure mode and Aperture Priority AE (Av mode) using some Canon lenses (such as macro lenses). Fixes a phenomenon in which the exposure level shown in the LCD panel differs from what is shown in the viewfinder when shooting still images in manual exposure mode. Fixes a phenomenon in which the Wireless File Transmitter (WFT-E4 or WFT-E4 II) may not automatically power off when used for FTP transfers. These phenomenon only occur with the Version 2.0.4 and Version 2.0.3 firmware. The Version 2.0.7 firmware being released this time is for cameras with firmware up to Version 2.0.4. If the camera’s firmware is already Version 2.0.7, it is not necessary to update the firmware. Download link after the jump! 5D MKII 2.0.7. Firmware Download!

All that was included was supports the WFT-E4 II pretty much! Aww! I guess we are going to have to wait longer i guess! Firmware Version 1.2.4 incorporates the following improvements and fixes. 1. Supports the WFT-E4 II wireless file transmitter that was released in December 2009. 2. Corrects a phenomenon in which visible noise may appear in images taken by continuous Bulb shooting. Canon 7D Double Trouble??? The word on the street that there is problem with Canon’s 7D where it will show during burst mode it will show the preceding frame. I have not seen this myself when shooting with the 7D, but i have not done alot of shooting with this camera. Phenomenon In images captured by continuous shooting, and under certain conditions, barely noticeable traces of the immediately preceding frame may be visible. This phenomenon is not noticeable in an image with optimal exposure. The phenomenon may become more noticeable if a retouching process such as level compensation is applied to emphasize the image.
